The Great Loop Part 4

Leaving Sedona was just as breathtaking as our arrival. Heading west through the mesmerizing red rock landscape, we ventured into Cottonwood before making our way to the charming town of Jerome, perched precariously on the side of a mountain. The road ascending to Jerome is not suitable for larger RVs due to its steep incline, yet the vistas it offers are simply unparalleled. Once a bustling mining town, Jerome now thrives on tourism, boasting a vibrant atmosphere and a plethora of attractions. A large parking lot conveniently situated off the main street provides easy access to the town's focal points, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its rich culture and history. I recommend allocating at least a day to explore its winding streets and eclectic offerings.

Continuing our journey westward, we embarked on the awe-inspiring drive northward to the Grand Canyon. Words scarcely do justice to the grandeur of this iconic national park; it truly defies description. It may take several days for one's mind to fully comprehend the sheer magnificence unfolding before their eyes. I advise finding a comfortable campsite and allowing yourself ample time to hike along the southern rim, absorbing the breathtaking vistas at a leisurely pace. With a robust transportation system comprising buses and shuttles, accessing various points along the south rim is a breeze.

Leaving the Grand Canyon behind, we headed north toward Page, Arizona, enjoying a scenic drive punctuated by stunning vistas. Our first stop just outside Page was the remarkable Horseshoe Bend, a natural wonder accessible via a short hike from the parking lot. It's advisable to visit Page during the early or late months of the year, as summer temperatures can soar. Nonetheless, Page offers a wealth of activities year-round.

During our stay, we explored Upper Antelope Canyon and embarked on an eight-hour boat ride to admire the majestic Rainbow Arch in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Our accommodation at Roam Horseshoe Bend RV Resort exceeded expectations, boasting top-notch facilities and panoramic views of the surrounding red rocks. I recommend utilizing a golf cart to explore the park and select your preferred vantage point, as the vistas are truly breathtaking from every angle.
